2013 Delegations

If you can't travel with us in 2012, here's an overview of what 2013 will probably look like....

This page provides some information on scheduled delegations for 2013.

Your participation as an eyewitness to the situation on a delegation in 2013 will enrich your understanding of the conflict and empower your work back in the United States.

All delegations feature meetings with Palestinian and Israeli peacemakers – leaders of civil society groups, grassroots organizers and more. The delegation will meet with ‘ordinary’ Israelis and Palestinians, and people and organizations working for peace and justice. Delegates will confront and analyze the US role in the conflict and wrestle with ways to translate your experience to others when you return home.

As more and more people join our delegations, we need to plan further and further ahead for each of our delegations. We don't have delegation leaders finalized for these delegations, but here's some general information about each one -- and a way to contact us to make sure you get updates on the delegations as they become available. Please let us know today if you're considering one of these delegations!!

All delegations are two weeks long.

May/June 2013 Delegation

This is a wonderful time of year to visit: great weather at the beginning of summer. This will also take place near the 63rd anniversary of the 1948 war; the declaration of independence for Israel, the Nakba (catastrophe) for the Palestinians.

August 2013 Delegation

Summer is a great time to travel. Temperatures will be the hottest of the year, but because of the elevation of Jerusalem and the West Bank, many nights will be pleasant.

November 2013 Delegation

Fall delegations usually focus on the olive harvest: we'll spend about two days learning about, and helping with, the harvest in addition to standard delegation experiences.

DEADLINE TO APPLY: Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until approximately two months before each delegation begins. Apply early to reserve and lock in lower airfares.

Logistics

The cost of the delegation will be around $2200, depending on our on-the-ground costs at this time. This includes 13 days of the delegation, hotel and home stay accommodations, breakfasts and dinners, local transportation, guides, speaker/event fees, basic tips and gratuities. Partial scholarships may be available for those with demonstrable need.

The cost does not include domestic and international airfare. Interfaith Peace-Builders works with a local travel agent in Jerusalem to secure the best group rates for the delegation to travel together on the same flight from Washington, DC to Israel/Palestine. Therefore, delegates do not need to book their own international airfare.

Delegates will be expected make arrangements to be in Washington DC by 2pm on the beginning day of the delegation for the start of our one-day orientation program.
