Jerusalem Old City Tour

Despite a rainy and cold day, the delegates went on a tour of the Old City with guide Said and saw many sites of religious and political significance.

The Western Wall: Regarded the holiest of all sites inJudiasm, this wall is part of the outer wall of the Second Temple. Faithful place written prayers between the cracks of the rocks that make up the wall.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchure: The traditional site of the crucifixion of Jesus.

The Dome of the Rock with the Western Wall in the foreground. The Dome of the Rock and the nearby Al-Aqsa Mosque are the traditional sites of departure for Muhammad's night journey to heaven.

This Israeli Jewish house is on the roofs of Palestinian houses and shops in the Muslim quarter of the Old City. There are over 30 buildings that have been settled in by Jews in the Muslim quarter alone -- in an attempt to increase the Jewish population of the city.
