Hebron

The Bab Az-zawiyya market in Hebron, a city of over 200,000 Palestinian inhabitants. This market is located in the section of Hebron not under Israeli military control -- and it teems with the life of a large urban area.

Delegates also visited the parts of Hebron under full Israeli military control. Here Zleikha Muhtasab gives a tour of a once busy commercial street, now only open for Jewish Israeli trafffic.

In the part of Hebron under Israeli control, settlements are often above the Palestinian old city markets. Overhead fencing has been put in place to protect the Palestinians below from the trash and debris that settlers sometimes dump on the market.
